I’m John, a photographer based in Bristol, UK.
My journey into photography began ten years ago while working in finance. One of the employee benefits was a small allowance to spend on a hobby, and without overthinking it, I bought my first camera and 50mm prime lens.
What started as curiosity quickly became a way of seeing the world differently.
I began to notice the details that often go overlooked. The play of light and shadow across a building, the geometry of everyday items, or the unexpected colour of a littered alleyway. Everyday scenes suddenly revealed their own beauty and character.
The ordinary became extraordinary.
My work focuses on composition, light, and colour in an attempt to capture these moments.
